Mission Statement
Our mission statement, role, and values as a children's ministry.
Our Mission
Our mission here at Mission Kids, is guided by this piece of scripture. The Sadducees and Pharisees gathered together and one of them asked the question to Jesus:
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:36-40)
Our chief goal is to nurture kids who love Jesus Christ with all their heart. We believe that the whole of every man, woman and child's duty toward God is summed up in that one greatest command. We believe that apart from loving God we cannot truly love one another, and that you cannot love God without loving others.
Our Place
We firmly believe that it is the duty and privilege of the father and mother to raise up children in the Lord. Your child's view of who God is will be shaped more by who you are than any other factor. Our job is not to be the sole provider of spiritual guidance, but rather to help and equip you to nurture your children in their relationship with God.
We therefore greatly value your feedback. We encourage parents to talk to us, to ask questions, to give suggestions. We are also eager to point you to additional resources that can help you in your walk with Christ and with your child.
Our Values
The Word of God
We believe that every word in the Bible is true, and the sum of his words are Truth. We therefore believe in teaching the God of the Bible, not a cartoon caricature.
Prayer
We believe that apart from the activity of the Holy Spirit working through the word God cannot be known, and that the Spirit is released through prayer.
Happy Holiness
We believe that living for God alone by living by his law is the way to live a life of true joy.
